Google Shopping puts your products, prices and store name right at the top of search results, which makes it one of the most profitable channels for eCommerce brands. For peptide and supplement stores, it is also where most accounts first run into trouble. Shopping runs through Google Merchant Center, which has its own reviews, its own policies and its own suspensions. This guide covers how to get approved and stay approved.
General information, not legal advice. Google’s policies change and decisions depend on your specific products and markets.
How Shopping works (and why it is different from Search)
With Search ads, you write the ad and choose keywords. With Shopping, Google builds the ad from your product feed: the title, description, image, price and landing page you submit to Merchant Center. Google then decides which searches to show each product for. That means your feed is your ad copy, and every product in it is reviewed.
The most common Merchant Center suspension: misrepresentation
Most suspensions in this category cite misrepresentation. In plain terms, Google is not confident that your business is trustworthy or that your products are described accurately. Common causes:
- Missing or thin policy pages (shipping, returns, privacy, terms).
- Business name, address or contact details that differ between the website, Merchant Center and Google Ads.
- Prices, availability or shipping costs in the feed that do not match the website.
- Health claims, “clinically proven” or “doctor recommended” language without support.
- Badges, awards or guarantees with nothing behind them.
- Negative or missing third-party reviews and an inconsistent online footprint.
Product-level disapprovals
Separate from account suspensions, individual products can be disapproved, often under “unapproved substances” or healthcare policies. A few disapproved products will not suspend your account by themselves, but a feed full of them is a warning sign. Fix the listing (title, description, image or landing page) and request a review, or exclude the product.
What to keep out of Shopping
Not every product you sell belongs in your Shopping feed. As a rule, exclude:
- Products named on Google’s unapproved substances list, or closely tied to them.
- Products that cannot be described without human-use or health benefits.
- Kits or bundles that include supplies associated with human use.
- Anything that keeps being disapproved after a careful rewrite.
You can still promote excluded products through SEO and email, and send Shopping traffic to your strongest compliant products.
We audit your store and feed, tell you which products are safe to include, and set up Merchant Center properly the first time.

- Titles: brand, product name, form and size or purity. No benefits, no “best”, no dosing.
- Descriptions: what it is, specification, testing and storage. Research-use-only wording for peptides.
- Images: clean product photos on a plain background. No people, no body imagery, no text claims on the image.
- Identifiers: use real GTINs if you have them; if not, set identifier_exists to false rather than inventing numbers.
- Accuracy: price, availability and shipping must match the landing page exactly. Use automatic item updates or frequent feed syncs.
Setting up Merchant Center the right way
- Verify and claim your website in Merchant Center.
- Enter business details exactly as they appear on your site: name, address, phone, support email.
- Set up shipping and returns in Merchant Center to match your policy pages.
- Connect your feed (WooCommerce or Shopify app, or a scheduled file) and fix every error and warning.
- Link Merchant Center to your Google Ads account, both owned by your business.
- Launch Shopping with a small product set first, then add products once they are approved and stable.
How to request a review
If your account is suspended, fix every issue first: the website, the Merchant Center settings and the feed. Then request a review from the Needs attention section. Google limits how many reviews you can request, and each rejection adds a cooldown before the next attempt, so do not appeal until everything is fixed. Google may also ask for identity or business verification.
Never create a new Merchant Center account or a new website to get around a suspension. Google links accounts through business details, payment methods and domains, and new accounts created to evade a suspension are usually suspended too, along with every linked account.
- Your accounts, your data. Campaigns run in your own Google Ads and Merchant Center accounts. You keep admin access and full history, even if you stop working with us.
- No tricks. No cloaking, coded product names or deliberate misspellings to get past review.
- Same page for everyone. Reviewers and customers see the same business, products and claims.
- We fix and appeal. If something is disapproved or suspended, we fix the cause and request a review. We never move you to a new account to get around a suspension.
The bottom line
Shopping can be the most profitable channel for a peptide or supplement store, but only with a clean website, an accurate feed and a careful product selection. Get those right before you launch, and fix problems properly instead of working around them.
